Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance

BAAMO is committed to making all our programs and events accessible and enjoyable for everyone. It is our committed policy to never bar a performer nor deny access to a guest based on gender, race, religion, national origin, disability, use of service animal, marital status, age (unless venue restrictions apply), fashion choices or musical preferences.

To ensure that BAAMO meets or exceeds guidelines set forth in Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida Statues 533, BAAMO is embarking on a Self-Evaluation process to examine how we structure our programs and events to achieve maximum inclusion of the community we serve. We have included sections on accessability on our event planning checklists, and continue to consult with performers with disabilities for guidance.

The Florida Bandango, held in Austin, Texas has its home at Yard Dog Folk Art Gallery. Restroom facilities for all guests is provided via portable facilities. Thanks to BAAMO’s efforts, there will be a handicapped accessible unit available for the Florida Bandango. The venue is outside directly on a paved alley, allowing access for anyone. Parking on popular South Congress Avenue is a problem for everyone but there are designated handicapped spaces in close proximity to Yard Dog.

If anyone who applies to play at the Florida Bandango or any guest of a BAAMO event has a suggestion for improving our accessibility, or a complaint about our practices, please contact our Compliance Officer immediately. We promise to respond within 5 business days of receipt of any complaints with an acknowledgement of the communication and with specific steps BAAMO will take to address the issues raised.
