They came. They saw. We rocked!
It was an amazing afternoon of Tampa Bay music. Photo album coming soon. Thanks to:
Gumbi Ortiz & The Latino Projekt: Afro-Cuban Jazz & Timba. Al DiMeola’s Grammy-winning percussionist with his hometown band, blending the street sounds of Cuba, the Bronx and Tampa Bay.
Rebekah Pulley & The Reluctant Prophets: Acoustic Roots Rock. A lovely, haunting voice with intimate songs scored to a barroom twang.
Sawgrass Flats: Rockin’ Newgrass. Infectious Florida Swampgrass that turns any song into a sweet, full-on, barreling-down-the-road jam.
Life of Pi: Indie Alternative Pop. High-energy punk and hard rock with melody-centered pop sensibilities.
Johnny Zoom Cheerlead Squad: Reved-up Garage Rock. Raw, fast and smart music that hijacks your ears for a wild ride.
Master of Ceremonies Ronny Elliott: Hillbilly Soul with a deep knowledge of the history of rock’n’roll from Tampa Bay’s dark troubadour. Hear selections from the album MOJO Magazine named one of the top five in 2005, Valentine Roadkill.
